Ashleigh + Arik | A Rustic and Charming Wedding at Camp Denison in Georgetown, MA


Ashleigh and Arik’s story began in New England, where they met and fell in love before heading off on a new adventure together in Texas. When it came time to say “I do,” they packed up their car, loaded up their two pups, and made the cross-country drive back to their roots for a wedding that blended nature, nostalgia, and all the joyful chaos that makes love stories so fun to witness.


The day before this wedding, I watched the weather radar obsessively. We were having torrential rain throughout New England, and this couple was hoping for a beautiful *and dry* outdoor ceremony.

As a professional wedding photographer I am equipped to shoot in the rain, but I never want that stress for my couples on their wedding day! Amazingly, the rain went around Georgetown, MA for the most part. Thank you, Mother Nature!


When my second shooter and I arrived, we found Ashleigh and her bridal party laughing around a table playing Heads Up in their getting ready room—exactly the kind of relaxed energy that sets the tone for an unforgettable day. (And yes, I knew one of the answers. It was Taylor Swift, obviously.)


The energy only got better. While the bridal party and I headed out for the classic pajama shot, they came up with the brilliant idea to do a round of “awkward family photo” poses—and let me tell you, we may have had way too much fun.

The commitment, the facial expressions, the absolutely ridiculous poses... pure gold. In fact, I had so much fun editing them later that I used one to prank my teenage daughter, telling her this was my new creative way of posing bridal parties. Her reaction was priceless (video coming soon!)


Camp Denison is a total gem. This location gave us dreamy woodland vibes, beautiful river views, and enough open space for laughter and celebration to carry all night. The staff was phenomenal—(special shoutout to Don for being a total MVP!) Friendly, attentive, and just the kind of energy you hope for behind the scenes on a wedding day.


Ashleigh and Arik were surrounded by the kind of people you want in your corner. The kind of people who help set up, cheer the loudest, fix a loose tie or an anxious heart, and dance until their feet hurt. It’s no surprise the entire day went off without a hitch—even with a forecast that threatened to absolutely pour. Luckily, the skies held out just long enough for the ceremony, portraits, and the most magical sparkler exit to close out the night.


Ashleigh and Arik, your wedding was the perfect blend of heart, humor, and home. Thank you for bringing your love back to New England and inviting me to be part of your day. I appreciate how gracious your friends and family were, you are a wonderful group of people and I am so lucky to have met you all.
