Manchester IS HOME TO aDAM SANDLER, BACKROOM TENDERS, AND THE RED ARROW, WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?
I was born and raised in Manchester, NH. We bought our first home here (and probably last, given this housing market!) I have spent about a decade traveling and living out in the midwest too. I bring this up, because when Erin + Dylan mentioned Arm's Park as a location for their engagement session, I had one of those sweet moments of appreciation for the Queen City.
Like any other city, there is crime and an Insurmountable host of issues in our community.
UNLIKE any other city, we have virtually no traffic unless you are heading to Boston during rush hour, we have SO MANY beautiful parks, historic buildings, and lush hiking trails galore. Arm's Park is located right near the historic mills, by the Merrimack river. I use to walk down to Arm's Park when I was a teen for the Rock 101 FM fireworks show, that was a fun time!
OK. Enough of the nostalgia!
Erin + Dylan were so sweet and easy to work with. Erin brought her little sister for back up, and it was fun hearing her ideas too. We tackled Arm's Park an hour before sunset, and had the best weather. Upon beginning our session, we did see some interesting characters, like a gentleman "exercising" along the walking path, to music blasting from his car about 100 feet away, with all 4 car doors open. (Don't worry, he has been removed from the images)
I am gushing over this couple and how their photos turned out. During one of the prompts to "pick up your fiancé and spin her around", they were on the edge of the colorful staircase. I asked them to spin at the top, and felt I should add the helpful anecdote, "just be careful not to fall!' (Ugh such a mom, I know)
This Bride! She heard me and decided to playfully act like she was falling backwards as her fiancé placed her back on the ground. I swear I watched her fall through my camera screen! I immediately looked up and she was TEASING me. I have not had a bride tease ME yet, and I loved every moment of it! I decided that moment was worthy of a GIF.
You will see the GIF below, of our bride pretending to fall.
It looked SO real on my screen in the moment!!
I hope you enjoy this sneak peek! I am looking forward to covering their wedding next month in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Hey, that is where I got married;-)
don't fall!
a quick romantic spin
This shot may eternally exist in my portfolio as my **all time favorite ever**. I mean LOOK at that COMPOSITION, the MOTION, the TEXTURES!!
