rustic charm met an elegant couple this past sunday!
This was my second time photographing a wedding at the Barn at Bull Meadow wedding venue in Concord, NH. The venue perfectly balances rustic charm with modern amenities such as a wedding party suite, private bathroom, and an additional suite for your partner and their wedding team as well!
The ceremony took place with the barn’s iconic large windows and wooden architecture as the backdrop. The flowers were delivered and arranged on site by Kiki & Co Bow and Blooms. This vendor was patient with me, as I was utilizing the wrap she needed to finish the bride's bouquet for my lay flat display. Shout out to Kiki & Co for their kindness, patience, and professionalism. I love that for the couples I work with!
Mandy and Bryce decorated the ceremony space with strands of lights overhead, as well as long soft cream colored drapery to complement the decor they arranged. The light strands and drapery were completed by the talented Designs by Anna . The drapes were gorgeous, hung from the top beams and flowed down the sides of the pillars. (I'm not actually sure if "pillar" is the right term. See below photos for examples and LMK)
The ceremony was beautiful, though not without its "real life" moments. In a turn of events, one of the poor ring bearers fell ill and threw up during the ceremony. Honestly, props to him for being fairly discreet about it. He was a professional ring bearer through and through.
A touching segment of the ceremony was the unity candle lighting. Guided by Bryce’s brother and Mandy’s sister, the couple unified their lives in a way that put their sibling bonds on full display. Seeing that level of support and love from their closest family members was a highlight for everyone in attendance.
I spent most of my time with the bridal party as my second shooter and little sister (Hi, Molly!) tended to the groomsmen. The bridal party was truly made up of ride or die ladies that were a blast to interact with. (Special shout out to making sure I didn't fall off the ladder during the dress shot!)
One emotional highlight of the evening was the surprise mother-daughter dance. Following the traditional father-daughter dance, the bride took to the floor to surprise her mom. Mandy was the existence of a loving force of nature as she gave a short speech and tribute to her mother, who deserved a moment with the bride on her wedding day, just like dad was given.
Her friends were crying. Her family was crying. I was crying.
It's unreal to me, that after so many weddings, I can still be brought to tears.
The moment with her mom was a sacred moment. The bond between a mother and daughter is a delicate gift. Many mothers and daughters don't get to share the love I saw on the dance floor last night.
Witnessing love on display is truly a gift. It was a tribute to the woman who helped shape Mandy into the incredible woman she is today. Watching Mandy and her Mom share that spotlight was a powerful reminder of why I love capturing other's stories. It was also a gentle reminder of how fortunate I am to have a daughter that I have a strong connection with. It's so easy to take such a sacred thing for granted with life's day to day stressors. Mandy's untraditional dance and tribute to her mother will be logged in my brain forever as one of my favorite moments to witness as a wedding photographer <3
Once dinner was finished, Mandy and Bryce made sure the energy never dipped. This couple knows how to host! The dance floor was packed all night as they kept the party going. The photos from this reception are my favorite to date! Everyone was willing to be photographed, and I loved that. The crowd also LOVED the Photo Booth provided and attended by Memorable Social Booths. The team was great to interact with as a vendor, and the crowd was having a blast taking silly photos.
The night ended with a private last dance outside while the party wrapped up. The DJ was obliging and setting up quickly for the couple after Mandy changed into the CUTEST white dress and custom white cowgirl boots, engraved with her new initials and their wedding date!
Complete perfection. Swoon.
Your wedding day doesn’t have to stay in one lane. It can be elegant and playful. Structured and spontaneous.
There’s a growing trend right now toward intentional weddings, and I love it.
Days that focus less on production and tradition, and more on the sentiments and personal meaning of the event. Mandy and Bryce leaned into that beautifully.
They honored tradition where it mattered to them, created space for connection, and still made room for fun.
Mandy and Bryce, thank you for inviting me into your world for a day. Your wedding was a beautiful reflection of your characters: resilient, deeply connected to family, and ready to celebrate life's best moments.
